Vietnam General Department of Vocational Training Partners with Certiport to Add IT Literacy Program to Vocational Education

Local Partner IIG Vietnam to Deploy Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification and Adobe Certified Associate Exams in 600+ Vocational Schools Nationwide

Certiport, the official test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announced the company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the General Department of Vocational Training (GDVT) in Vietnam. The agreement will allow Certiport partner IIG Vietnam to work with the Vietnam GDVT to launch a new IT literacy program and offer technology certification at more than 600 vocational centers and colleges nationwide.

Approximately 350,000 students enroll in vocational training in Vietnam each academic year and one million students participate in the entire system. The IT literacy program will include the Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) and Adobe® Certified Associate (ACA) certification.

"We appreciate the cooperation between GDVT and Certiport to form this MOU," said Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director General, GDVT. "The program will enhance Vietnam’s vocational development strategy greatly. I hope the partnership will further facilitate and enhance Vietnam’s vocational training quality, especially increasing innovation in IT and the assessment of students’ IT proficiency."

The GDVT plans to work with IIG Vietnam to rollout IC³ certification with courseware in Vietnamese towards the end of 2011.

Certiport, IIG Vietnam and dignitaries from the Vietnam GDVT signed the MOU at Certiport’s annual Global Partner Summit in San Diego, California.
